Late night writing

Most of my ideas come very late at night. I guess that's when the kids finally are in bed and I can catch my breath and relax. If I don't get too sleepy, I can put out some good writings. All of my writing comes in the form of song writing. There is a line in one of my songs that I really love; "I'm sorry for self-loathing, I hate that most about myself." I say that I'm sorry for self-loathing, and then I self-loath (I hate that most about myself). This is an important line to me. I really feel it. Song writing is an important form of communication for me. If you want to know how I am feeling, listen to my latest song. I can be read like a book, when someone knows the direction to read me. There are no secreats, just areas of avoidance. Signing the eviction notice, I continue staring into the mirror with the full intentions of vomitting. I'll have to remember that. How am I feeling? You tell me.

teacher affirmations

My teacher affirmation said "I love what I do and know that my enthusiasm is contageous." This reminds me why I decided to go into the teaching profession. Enthusiasm is contageous but lack of enthusiasm is also co0ntageous. The students will feed off of whatever emotion I display to them. Enthusiasm will keep the students' attention and help them to make personal attachments to the class that I will offer them. The learning experience will be fun and exciting. The classroom is more than just learning subjects, it is also a room that molds and develops their lives. Crazy how a different person every year spends more time with our kids than we do. Teaching is an important career. We are responsible for the outcome of these kids. It is up to us, as teachers to be leaders, to keep them on a strait path to success. We need to let the students know that we care about them as people. I will love what I do and my enthusiasm will be contageous.

Those Crazy Animals--Movie

We had lots of fun making this film. We ran into some trouble with the volume levels from music to narration, but with more time and practice, I know we could make a better movie.

Those Crazy Critters

We started out by brainstorming with each other about what subject I should choose. I had several ideas, but animals were at the top. We wondered how animals come to like other animals, people, even their mortal enemies.

First we needed an essential question which is, "Where is the bond in interspecies interaction?". The unit question is,"How can one kind of animal interact with different kinds of animals, or even people? As seen on this google doc, Their are a lot of things to consider besides it's just a happy cat or dog or bird etc.

Service Project-- Why do certain animals act like other animals?

Sometimes, when animals are together, they start acting like the animals they are around. For example, this cat I know, she grew up with small dogs. They would tackle her and wrestle around, and over the last year she has strengthened up and has started wrestling with the other dogs too. She didn't even like playing with the other cats. She seemed to prefer the company of the dogs better, as if it were more natural. Just as odd, the dogs didn't eat the cat either. They enjoyed the company of the cat. This is not the only thing I've heard of. The story of Pecos Bill and Tarzan, these may possibly be fiction, but it shows that people have tried to explain this strange thing about how animals think in respect to us or other animals.
